Two Emporia teachers reach highest certification
Sherry Nelson and Randy Wells, physical education teachers at Emporia High School, have received their National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

Emporia Superintendent chosen 2008 Kansas Superintendent of the Year
John Heim was chosen by the Kansas Association of School Administrators and will represent Kansas at the national competition.

Emporia schools cited for Excellence
The Kansas State Department of Education announced that four schools in Emporia had achieved Standard of Excellence ratings in the Kansas Assessment Program.

Emporia High teacher and weightlifting instructor Randy Wells was named the NSCA High School Strength and Conditioning Professional of the Year at the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s conference in Las Vegas.
